How did we inherit this moral obligation to bring justice to the world via death from above

Confession in Ballyer back in the day.
Confession in Ballyer back in the day.
'Bless me Father, for I have sinned. It’s been 4 weeks since me last confession, I have been with a loose girl.'
The Priest asks, 'Is that you, Paddy Gilford?'
'Yeah, Father, it is.'
'And who was the girl you were with?'
'I can't tell yeh, Father, I don't want to ruin her reputation.'
"Well, Paddy, I'm sure to find out her name sooner or later so you may as well tell me now. Was it Tina Holland?"
'I cannot say.'
'Was it Teresa Greene?'
'I'll never tell.'
'Was it Nelly Doyle?'
'I'm sorry, but I cannot name her.'
'Was it Cathy Murphy?'
'My lips are sealed Father.
' 'Well then, was it Rosy O’Grady?'
'Please, Father, I cannot tell you.'
The priest sighs in frustration.
'You're very tight lipped, and I admire that. But you've sinned and have to atone. You cannot be an altar boy now for 4 months. Now you go and behave yourself.'
Paddy walks back to his pew, and his friend Christy slides over and whispers,
'What'd you get?'
'Four month's vacation and five excellent Leads.'

"The first time the Beatles recorded the song, it hadn’t gone so well. While its fresh sound caused the ears of the Parlophone Records crew to perk up, it would take something more to convince producer George Martin. As MacDonald tells it, after Martin picked apart everything that had been wrong with their performance, he asked them if there was anything they didn’t like. “Well, for a start,” George Harrison said, “I don’t like your tie.” The Beatles persisted in comedy mode for the next 20 minutes, leaving the Parlophone team “literally crying with laughter, a factor which, more than anything else, seems to have induced Martin to sign the group.”"

Jesus Christ Files Lawsuit Against GOP For Slander - Free Wood Post:
"When asked about the lawsuit, House Speaker John Boehner made the following remarks:
“Mr. Christ is entitled to his opinion, however the GOP believes that the underlying message in the Bible is that giving tax cuts to the wealthy is the true path to happiness.
I don’t know where Mr. Christ thinks the Bible says to help the poor and the sick, but that sounds awfully socialistic to me, and we are not a socialist country.”"

God is pro-union - Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:
"In the Biblical story, God worked with Moses to rescue the Jews from the unjust economic system of slavery. Once their freedom was secured, they were told to celebrate a day of rest each week. No one was excluded. It was a way of giving them time to recharge and keep their souls intact.
In America, we've long lost that part of the deal. We've fallen into the economic injustice of working harder so those with money can have even more. That's why I think God would be pro-union."
